Client As We Are Foundation
Industry Arts / Community + Not for Profit / Events + Tourism
As We Are's mission is to bring joy and wellbeing to the lives of artists who have an intellectual disability. They develop and coordinate opportunities that recognise the intrinsic value of these artists and the important contribution they make to society. We've been honoured to witness and help this aim be truly achieved. With initiatives such as art awards and exhibitions, advocacy, education, and skills development, a strong, contemporary brand was required to elevate awareness and appeal to much needed sponsors.
We helped by rebranding this inspiring initiative, and developed a bold brandmark and collateral materials across a number of touch points to explain the organisations purpose and showcase the amazing work.

For the 2013 event, we commissioned striking, heroic portraits by Robert Frith of Acorn Photo of some of the contributing artists that we then partly concealed by the brandmark to challenge and intrigue the viewer in a message of non-judgement.
Inspired by the creative expression of the artists and a belief in equal opportunities, their flagship annual art award and exhibition grew to become a prestigious and significant event on the WA arts calendar. Our contribution over a number of years was made in the form of part sponsor, in support of a very important forum for expression, recognition and inclusion and an amazing organisation!

"Firstnature’s design work for As We Are has ensured the professionalism of the organisation and greatly contributed to the increased profile and recognition of the initiative."
